Mt Hotham Bucks Weekend

Last weekend we headed up to Mt Hotham for a snowboarding and party weekend for Jeryl’s bucks. Most of the guys headed up on Friday morning but due to other commitments I headed up with a couple of mates on Friday night. That way we’d get a good night’s rest on the mountain before getting up nice and early for a big day of snowboarding on Saturday.

The conditions on Saturday were absolutely beautiful. The best I’ve experienced so far. The sun was out in all its glory and there wasn’t a single cloud in the sky. A nice dump fell the night before so the cover was fresh and fluffy across the whole mountain. Absolutely perfect conditions. We all had an awesome time carving up the slopes (and doing my fair share of falling over) all day long.

The picture below is of Jeryl attempting a jump. The leap may not have been all that pretty but the landing was sure fun to watch haha.

Morning Snow In Willesden

I woke up this morning to see a beautiful light covering of snow in Willesden, the area in London where I currently live. Because it was so cold, minus 4 degrees Celsius to be exact, light snow feel instead of the usual misty rain that we usually get.

It doesn’t snow that often here so I just had to go out and take some photos. The snow fell ever so lightly, very beautiful indeed. Here’s a photo of my street where you can see the light covering of snow on the road and parked cars.

Mt Hotham Weekend

David, Bien, Huy and I headed to Mt Hotham early last Friday morning for a fun filled weekend of snowboarding. Tu and Nghia couldn’t take time off work so they headed up later that evening. We were all very excited as snow reports forecasted excellent snow coverage and conditions for the weekend.

We hit the slopes about lunchtime on Friday and man, the conditions were just fantastic! It was the best snow I had ever experienced. It was just so beautifully soft and dry which made for excellent snowboarding. Plus the sun was out all day long and visibility was great.

Saturday was ok. The conditions weren’t as good as the day before but they were still good. The boys headed out early for a full day of snowboarding. I was a little tired and sore from the previous day so I headed out after lunch.

Sunday arrived and it was time to get ready to head home. It snowed during the night so there was fresh snow everywhere. We had a few hours before we had to check out of our apartment so we decided to head out for some snow play. It was just so beautiful with snow falling ever so gently. I had never experienced such calm snowfall so it was just so amazing. It made for the perfect end to my best ever weekend of snowboarding so far.

There’s Snow At Mt Buller

Stoj, David, Bien, Huy, Nghia and myself headed up to Mt Buller this morning. We were all excited as it was the first trip of the season. The season only officially started last weekend but there has been very little to no snowfall. Luckily, enough snow fell in last couple of days (together with man made snow) for us to head up for some snowboarding.

Only the Bourke St run was open but that was enough to satisfy our snowboarding cravings especially since the conditions were so clear and beautiful. We couldn’t have hoped for a better day.

Here are some of the photos from today. The last two were taken at Mansfield where we had a pizza for dinner. Between the six of us we managed to down a total of 3 large and 3 medium pizzas!

Mt Buller Day Trip

It was my third and most likely my last snow trip for the season yesterday. It was me, Nghia, David, Stoj, Bien and Huy who made the drive up to Mt Buller for the day to hit the slopes and sharpen our snowboarding skills. Great weather made the average conditions all the better. The snow coverage was a bit patchy and the snow a little sluggish. Still, the warm and sunny weather made it all good.

So yeah it was a great day of boarding without any nasty falls. We even all gave the rail park a go this time. Now that was fun. Check out the group photo below which was taken at the end of the day when we were all pretty buggered.
