About Me
As you’ve probably noticed from the title and domain name of this blog my name is Kham Tran. I’m an Australian Vietnamese born Chinese guy (I know, it’s a bit of a mouthful) in his late 20s living in Melbourne, Australia.
Basically, my background is Chinese. My grandparents migrated to Vietnam from China before my parents were even born and that’s how we ended up in Vietnam. I was born in Vietnam but left for Australia in 1979 before my first birthday.
I speak English as well as Chinese (The Diojiu dialect and a little Cantonese) and some Vietnamese most of which I learnt from spending a year living in Saigon from July 2006 until August 2007. One of the reasons for going to live in Vietnam was that when I first came to visit back in November 2004 I felt that I owed it to myself to one day live a small part of my life there. A couple of years later I packed my bags and made the move with the plan to spend 6 months to a year in Saigon. I ended up staying for the full year and the experience is something I will never ever forget.
So yeah, this blog is just a way for me to share my experiences, some photos and just ramble on about anything else that interests me. So make sure you write a comment if you come across anything that interests you.
Here are some more details about myself…

Hi Kham, I enjoyed reading your about me section. I’m looking for unique friends from all over the world and you are very unique indeed. The Vietnamese blood that you have seems to have called you back to Vietnam. I hope I can visit your blog often. Anyway, will subscribe to your feed. Keep in touch.
Hi there,
I am visiting Vietnam in Jan and was just browzing the web for blogs of holidays. Yours is fantastic. How do you go about setting up something like this?
Thanks Lisa

Hey, quite odd that I came across your blog because I was actually looking up how to make banh canh
You seem to be a very interesting person. I wish I could just drop everything and go live in Vietnam for a year. I was born in Vietnam too, but left when I was 5 years old. One of these days I will definitely come back to visit.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
I am Malaysian Chinese. Both my grandfathers came from China and both my grandmothers’ parents came to Malaysia much earlier. Anyway, I was in Vietnam recently. Check out my site… and nice to meet you.
